DOWNLOAD MODULES In response to a recent request to edit one of my old shopping mall maps from 2003, I have decided to just leave those old fossils in situ and start a NEW project that more accurately reflects the modern decline in shopping malls around the world almost 20 years later. The "Abandoned Shopping Mall". These files are released into the PUBLIC DOMAIN for free use and distribution. This map assumes the user is familiar with the basic features of UnrealEd and knows how to build cut and paste 3d polygons, place lights, player-starts and apply textures. That's really about all you need to know. This map will be published as a series of MODULES that can be pasted together in any number of configurations. These individual modules may seem pretty basic, but once you start sticking them together, they can very quickly evolve into a very large complex map. Textures, lighting and additions are up to you. My own version quickly began to spiral out of control until I split it up into separate more easily manageable sections that will be added together once they are all completed. ![]() Best interpretation of theme will win the prestigious "Jeff Award", be posted on this web site and lavished with praise and admiration :-) For inspiration suggest looking up some of the "Dead Mall" videos on YouTube where these guys video tape themselves exploring abandoned shopping malls. It's creepy AF and is a perfect modern theme for a gritty down and dirty Unreal Tournament map. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n67s2r6fVKg www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv_8jLBX-2k www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpQCPjO13CY www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyrUXEGyjos www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmL2l-bcuUQ www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EcNkImo-KA www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7y1FoFqtiw https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodfield_Mall |

A base map.
A Central Hub, includes a main hallway and 2 sample stores - a "half-window" and a "full window" store, ramp and stairwell. I made the stairwell extra wide to insure BotPaths are 100% functional. |
